  30.   CDProW is a shareware package.  Shareware is not free.  If, after
  31.   an initial trial period not to exceed 30 days, you find the
  32.   software useful and continue to use it, you must pay a license fee
  33.   for the right to use it.  During the 30 day trial period you are
  34.   under no obligation to buy it.
  35.   
  36.   The license registration fee for CDProW is U.S. $25.00.

  71.   which must be entered using the Options / Register menu selection.
  72.   This registration number unlocks the software so that you have
  73.   unlimited use beyond the 30 day trial period.  The fastest way to
  74.   receive your registration number is to provide an internet E-mail
  75.   address or an address for one of the major online services
  76.   (Compuserve, AOL, etc).  If you provide this address, we will E-
  77.   mail you the registration number and you can immediately begin
  78.   using CDProW beyond the trial period.

  103. 2 - Hardware and software requirements
  104.   
  105.   CDProW runs under either MS Windows 3.0, MS Windows 3.1, MS Windows
  106.   95, MS Windows NT or IBM OS/2 2.0 or greater.  Version 3.1 or
  107.   greater of the MS help system is necessary in order to view the
  108.   online help.
  109.   
  110.   The MS Visual Basic runtime module VBRUN300.DLL is required by this
  111.   program.  In order to save on download time, this module is not
  112.   included with CDProW.  However, it is readily available for
  113.   download on the internet as well as on Compuserve along with other
  114.   online services.  On Compuserve, check the WINSHARE forum for the
  115.   latest copy of VBRUN300.DLL.  On America Online, VBRUN300.DLL can
  116.   be found by doing a software search.  There is no distribution or
  117.   registration fee required for this module since it is freely
  118.   distributed by Microsoft for programs written in Visual Basic.

  120.   CDProW uses approx. 335,000 bytes of disk space for it's initial
  121.   installation.  This includes demo files and documentation.  Add to
  122.   this figure the size of VBRUN300.DLL which is approx. 400,000
  123.   bytes.

  125. 3 - Installation Steps
  126.   
  127.      1.   Make a directory called CDPROW and unzip all files into this
  128.           directory.  You have obviously already done this otherwise
  129.           you would not be reading this.
  130.      
  131.      2.   If you have not already installed a copy of VBRUN300.DLL in
  132.           your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, do so now.  For OS/2 users,
  133.           copy this DLL into your \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM directory.
  134.           CDProW also works with VBRUN300.DLL in your CDPROW directory
  135.           but most users will want to move it to one central location
  136.           to avoid multiple copies of this DLL.
  137.      
  138.      3.   Setup a new icon to that will be used to start CDProW.  For
  139.           Windows 3.x, do this using File Manager.  For Windows 95 or
  140.           NT,  you can do this from the Windows Explorer.

  145.      4.   That's all - the installation is complete.

  147.   The following files that are included with CDPROW may be moved to
  148.   your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory if you wish.  The only reason to do
  149.   so would be if you have other Visual Basic programs that make use
  150.   of these same files.  If this is the case, then having only one
  151.   copy of these files on your hard disk will save space.

  182.      1.   CDPROW means the directory you used to install CDProW.
  183.      2.   WINDOWS means the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory on a DOS/Windows
  184.           system, or the \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM directory on an OS/2
  185.           system.
  186.      3.   EITHER means that these files can reside in either place.
  187.           They are initially installed in the CDPROW directory, but
  188.           can be moved to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory if you wish.

  191. 5 - Release Highlights
  192.      
  193. Release 1.7 contains the following enhancements and corrections.  All
  194. of the enhancements were a direct result of your suggestions so keep
  195. those suggestions coming!
  196.   
  197. 1.   Corrected ôsubscript out of rangeö error when the number of tracks
  198.      field receives focus.  Error only occurred when starting with an empty
  199.      file.  Workaround was to start with one of the demo files and delete all
  200.      entries.
  201. 2.   Corrected several problems with fields not being correctly painted.
  202.  
  203. Release 1.6 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  204.  
  205. 1.   Added a new sort sequence:  label and catalog number.
  206. 2.   Searches may now be performed using any combination of text, medium
  207.      and category search.
  208.  
  209. Release 1.5 contained the following enhancements and corrections.
  210.  
  211. 1.   Corrected a bug:  If you open a second file without exiting, the
  212.      artist list will merge with the first file.
  213. 2.   Eliminated the search menu and moved it under the Edit menu.
  214. 3.   Overall use of cleaner fonts and design.  Bold and 3D attributes were
  215.      minimized in order to present an overall better appearance.
  216. 4.   The main list window has been redesigned.
  217. 5.   Increased the Title field from 40 to 80 bytes.
  218. 6.   Increased the Artist field from 40 to 80 bytes.
  219. 7.   Increased the Description from 40 to 80 bytes.
  220. 8.   Increase the Track titles to 80 bytes.
  221. 9.   Provided new search fields:  label; catalog number; release year;
  222.      track description.
  223. 10.  Modified the design of the search screen to be more user friendly.
  224. 11.  Added new drop down lists for label field.
  225. 12.  Now allows the entry of individual times and descriptions for each
  226.      track.  Track times are entered in minutes and seconds.
  227. 13.  Allows entry of total recording time in minutes and seconds.
  228. 14.  A new option is provided to automatically update the total time based
  229.      on the individual track times.
  230. 15.  Added a new custom print field "Track Titles/Times" that prints both
  231.      the track title and time.
  232. 16.  Enhanced import/export to handle new total time format of min/sec.
  233.      Also added the ability to import and export track times along with track
  234.      titles.
  235. 17.  Added a tape calculator function that allows the selection of
  236.      individual tracks from multiple CDs.
  237. 18.  Added new standard tape calculator report.
  238. 19.  Added the ability to copy the tape calculator report to the Windows
  239.      clipboard.  This allows you to paste this into any format that you want
  240.      using the standard Windows paste function.
  241. 20.  General clean up of the online help.

  243. Release 1.4.1 highlights:
  244.      
  245. 1.   Corrected a screen redrawing problem with the entry and additional
  246.      entry screens.

  248. Release 1.4.0 highlights:
  249.      
  250. 1.   Corrected a problem with the number of tracks being zeroed out when
  251.      you add a new record.  This forced reentry of this number before you could
  252.      enter track titles.
  253. 2.   Made the default category list optional.  By turning off default
  254. categories, the category list will be built from the list of categories
  255. that are actually in use within your file.
  256. 3.   Added a new search type (Text / Begin) which will only match the start
  257. of a field.  Useful if you want to only print a section of your file.
  258. 4.   Added 3 new sort sequences.  1) Artist / Release Year, 2) Category /
  259. Title, 3) Category / Artist.  These are in addition to 4) Title and 5)
  260. Artist / Title that were already supported.
  261. 5.   The registration number is now shown in the about box.
  262. 6.   The program now starts quicker if you have registered - the initial
  263.      delay in the about box is shorter.
  264. 7.   The size of track titles has been increased from 40 to 60 positions.
  265. 8.   Added an option to automatically open the last file loaded when you
  266. start the program.
  267. 9.   Removed the "Are you sure?" confirmation from the program exit.

  269. Release 1.3.0 highlights:

  271. 1.   Added Import and Export capabilities
  272. 2.   Added right mouse support for popup menus
  273. 3.   Changed Release Date to Release Year.  This field now only accepts a
  274.      year value.

  277. 6.   Moved the Number of Discs, Number of Tracks and Total Time fields to
  278.      the main Recording Entry window.  Moved the misc key fields to the

  282. 9.   Improved overall display performance
  283. 10.  Create help file using 3.1 help compiler.  Version 3.1 of help is now
